What should I pack?

How long will I be at sea?
Seasons and contracts vary; however, you can generally expect to be away from home for three to four months at a time.
When does the season start and end?
Seasons vary but generally they run as follows: A Season – January to April, Spring Hake – May to June, B Season – June to October and Fall Hake – October to November
Are meals provided?
Yes! You will be working hard so you will need great food! Meals are provided on a consistent schedule each day. You will never go hungry on board the M/V Excellence!
Is transportation provided? How do I get to the boat?
You will be responsible to get yourself to Seattle to start the season and home from Seattle following the season.
Where will I sleep?
Bunk-type sleeping arrangements are on the vessel with 4-6 people of the same gender in each room. Mattress, pillow, and linens are provided as well.
What about my laundry?
Laundry service is provided to all employees and completed each week.
What types of jobs does a processor do?
There are many roles within the factory that are filled by processors. Processors can complete task such as running machines, prepping products for packing, and working in the freezers.
